I consider a single strand magnetic necklace to be the same strength as a double strand magnetic anklet or double strand magnetic bracelet as they have about the same amount of beads. For serious health concerns these are what I recommend. Honestly though, I do hear good health stories from people that have only worn a single strand magnetic bracelet. Some start with a single strand magnetic bracelet or anklet and then order more later. Generally triple strand wearers have a lot of pain issues that they are trying to work through. Or they have been wearing magnets for a while and now want more strength. Usually when I suggest multiple magnetic therapy pieces or a triple strand magnetic piece, it is because of a specific, ongoing serious health concern, such as Arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraines, ect. Also it’s totally ok to go on the better safe than sorry approach.

If you really want full benefit, why not go with a little more just to make sure? Normally triple strand magnetic anklets and bracelets are only sold to ones who have massive amounts of pain issues. Many have already tried a magnetic necklace or a double strand magnetic anklet or bracelet and know that while it helped they still need more. My personal experience: I have been wearing magnets for over 7 years for my Fibromyalgia and I now wear a triple strand magnetic anklet as my main piece and supplement that with other pieces as I see fit.

With magnetic therapy jewelry we are going for a whole body approach. Your body will be able to use the magnetic energy no matter where you are wearing it.

With that in mind, the first thing to consider is: What will you wear constantly day in and day out? That being said, I also think it make sense to have your magnetic piece as close to the affected area as possible, just in case that does help. So if you have knee pain- definitely consider and anklet first. But if you know you won’t wear an anklet- then go with what ever you will wear.

My personal experience: Originally I wore a necklace for years. It helped my headaches and once I put it on I didn’t have to think about it. After a few years I got tired of having the weight on my chest in the summer time, so I went to a double bracelet. My headaches did not come back simply because the magnets were no longer so close to that area, and I enjoyed the double bracelet. Now I wear a triple anklet. Eventually I got impatient with picking up silverware with my wrist and wanted a piece that was in a place that I really didn’t have to think about and for me, that was the ankle.
